Sometimes He's Not Ready, and It's Okay to Move On

Let's keep it real.  Women mature at a much faster rate than men.  It's not a good thing.  It's not a bad thing. It just is.  I am not saying that this is the rule; however, it is the trend.  Still, what I observe, over and over again, are women who are not willing to acquiesce to this reality.  Although your relationship may appear perfect and every one keeps asking when the two of you will wed, sometimes a man is just not ready to settle down, and if you cannot accept that, it is okay to walk away.

There's a saying that goes, "Women marry when they fall in love, men marry when they are ready."  That single sentence holds an alarming degree of truth.  Let's explore the traditional role of men and women in relationships (at this time, all of the feminists may now exit stage left - please reemerge circa paragraph 4).  Traditionally, men are viewed as providers, while women are nurturers.  Whether you consciously ascribe to these gender roles or not, these characteristics have become ingrained in our psyches due to social influences.

Caption:  Originally from California, he attended UC Berkley.  He was a second round draft pick for the 2008 NFL Draft, and was picked up by the Eagles, his current team.  Jackson made it as our Ken Doll of the Day due to that unforgetable touchdown during yesterday's game against the Cowgirls.  He covered 91 yards before elaborately falling into the endzone!  Now his touchdown antics have gotten him into some trouble in the past, however, I think this last performance was well worth the 15 yard penalty (BTW - He wasn't even in the endzone when he began showing out - so I don't even know how legitimate that call was!).  Do check out the video!
